SERGIO ELIAS

BIOGRAPHY

Sergio Elías was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, in 1964.
He began his musical studies at the age of 5, learning traditional Canarian music.
By the age of 8, he had composed his first song and began learning to play folk guitar and Canarian folklore with his father.

At 14, he started studying piano and music theory with professor Pilar Castro Palazón, and later continued his training at the Conservatory of Tenerife.

He studied harmony and modern composition with Cristian Grüner (Aula Actual Barcelona),
and took modern vocal lessons with Algerie Fragoso.
He also studied devotional and vocal music in Vaitarna, India, at the Shri P.K. Salve Kala Pratishthan school, under Pandit Subramaniam.
Additionally, he studied Indian music with Tomás Becket (Aula Actual Barcelona).

In 2007, he took part in a live recording in Australia with the group "Music of Joy", contributing to the album "Music of Joy 4 (Live)", which includes the song Adi Shakti, composed and sung by Sergio Elías.

Much of his musical journey has been self-taught, through countless hours of practice with piano, guitar, and voice.

Today, Sergio Elías is the composer (music and lyrics) of around 40 songs, all registered with SGAE (Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers).
